About Lia Golledge

There’s a photo of me at 13 years old, sitting in front of a boxy beige laptop my father had just bought me. I have this look on my face — pure, uncut delight — like someone had handed me a door to a universe I didn’t know existed yet. I used that laptop to learn basic coding, print Steve McManaman photos (yes, I was that kid), and make friends from around the world through mIRC chat rooms. My father, bless him, thought he was raising an engineer.

He was half right.

My name is Aulia Halimatussadiah. Most people call me Lia. Since marrying Shane on the 11th of November 2023, I’ve been Lia Golledge — a name that still makes me smile a little when I sign things, because it sounds like a completely different life, and also exactly the same one.

I was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the eldest of three children and the only daughter. Growing up, all I ever wanted to do was write. My parents, with the very best intentions, steered me toward Information Technology instead. “For your own good,” my mum said, with the kind of calm certainty only Indonesian mothers can deliver. So I studied IT. I got the degree. I took the web developer job and then quit to build tech startups in Indonesia

Then my life changed shape again.

In late 2023, I moved to Brisbane, Australia, and started working at MagicBlocks, AI Sales Agents platform.

At MagicBlocks, I lead community building and education for an AI agent platform that helps mortgage and sales businesses automate their pipelines, qualify leads, and close deals — 24 hours a day, across every channel. The technology is genuinely remarkable and I’ve absolutely learned a lot from my colleagues.

I also volunteer as The Board member for Her Tech Circle, because the work of getting more women into tech conversations — visible, valued, heard — is nowhere near finished.

I am a person who translates Epictetus and also says “lol” unironically in professional emails. I practice Human Design and Gene Keys and also obsessively tracks product metrics. I believe AI should enhance the human voice, not flatten it. I have 33 published books and still get nervous when I share something personal online.

So. Who am I?

I’m a community builder. I’m a technologist who studied IT under duress and ended up genuinely loving it. I’m a Stoic. I’m an Indonesian woman living in Brisbane, running AI workshops and writing essays and helping founders build their voice online.

My father bought me that first laptop thinking it would make me practical.

It made me everything.

Lia Golledge is Chief Community Officer at MagicBlocks.ai, Brisbane Ambassador for Her Tech Circle, published author of 33 books, and a deeply curious human who is still figuring it out — just with better tools now.
