About Lia Golledge

There’s a photo of me at 13 years old, sitting in front of a boxy beige laptop my father had just bought me. I have this look on my face — pure, uncut delight — like someone had handed me a door to a universe I didn’t know existed yet. I used that laptop to learn basic coding, print Steve McManaman photos (yes, I was that kid), and make friends from around the world through mIRC chat rooms. My father, bless him, thought he was raising an engineer.

He was half right.

I was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the eldest of three children and the only daughter. Growing up, all I ever wanted to do was write. My parents, with the very best intentions, steered me toward Information Technology instead. “For your own good,” my mum said, with the kind of calm certainty only Indonesian mothers can deliver. So I studied IT. I got the degree. I took the web developer job and then quit to build tech startups in Indonesia

Then my life changed shape again.

In late 2023 I moved to Brisbane, Australia, and joined MagicBlocks, an AI sales-agent platform. Over the next year and a half I built its growth engine from scratch — organic acquisition, AI-driven discovery (SEO + AEO/GEO), onboarding, CRM, partnerships. I scaled site traffic nearly 10x, made AI search a genuine acquisition channel, and got a front-row seat to exactly what AI can and can’t do for a growing business. I learned an enormous amount from that team. In mid-2026 I was being made redundant, and I decided to do this work on my own terms.

Today I work as a fractional AI growth marketer for founders and teams — mostly here in Australia, sometimes further afield. I help businesses find where their funnel is actually leaking, then build two things on top of it: an AI growth system that attracts and qualifies high-intent leads, and a visible founder-and-team brand that earns the trust a system alone never will. I’ve watched each half quietly fail without the other, so I build them together.

I also sit on the board of Her Tech Circle, running AI workshops across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, and I mentor startup founders through ACS Labs and River City Labs — because the work of getting more women into tech conversations, visible and valued and heard, is nowhere near finished.

I am a person who translates Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations to Bahasa Indonesia and also says “lol” unironically in professional emails. I practice Human Design and Gene Keys and also obsessively track product metrics. I believe AI should enhance the human voice, not flatten it. I have 34 published books and still get nervous when I share something personal online.

So. Who am I?

I’m a community builder. I’m a technologist who studied IT under duress and ended up genuinely loving it. I’m a Stoic. I’m an Indonesian woman living in Brisbane, running AI workshops and writing essays and helping founders build their voice online.

My father bought me that first laptop thinking it would make me practical.

It made me everything.
